By: Brenten Hough - The Voice of the War Cry In the earlier days of Preston High School, there was a newspaper. It was called the War Cry, and it was exactly what you could imagine it to be. It show-cased events around the school and other things that might pique your interest. Over time, it faded away into extinction. Now, War Cry is being revived. War Cry will have plenty of topics to read about including sports, music and arts, cheer and dance, holidays, school vibes, entertainment, photography and more! Each individual topic is developed by its own special group of people related to the subject, ensuring that you get the most accurate information available. The publish frequency of this newspaper has yet to be determined, but every issue is sure to be a good read. Please be sure to check in every time a new issue is published and show your Preston pride with a War Cry!

Q & AWhere did you move here from?
He was living in Springville, Utah but teaching in Saratoga Springs. What sports did you play in high school or in college? He played baseball, ran cross country, played football and wrestled. He coached a girl's wrestling team and they ended up being 2x state champs. What do you like best about being the vice principal? Having a broader reach with the students, I meet and communicate with way more kids than I would as a teacher. Do you have a good relationship with the kids? It’s one of my top priorities but it’s difficult to balance relationships with discipline. What’s the hardest part about being the new vice principal? Prioritizing, deciding whether to give more time to the students or to the teachers. Do you like this job? Yeah, I do, but it’s super challenging, every day is different, and you never know what to expect. Do you feel like you’re accepted at PHS? So far, I need to prove that I am not here temporarily, I want to make an impact. Interesting fact? He used to be in a band from the ages of 17-19 and wrote close to 50 songs. He loves everybody. |
